To Julie on a Special Day
Written by Great Grandpa Phil

On a special day
With words that bless
You have now become
A young Jewess.

What makes this an
Extra special day
Is that your middle name
Will now be Fae

That was the name of
Your great-grandma Fae
Whom you never knew,
So sad to say.

You gave her her
Last great thrill
When she held you close
The day before she fell ill.

She would have loved you
With great intense
And wished you the best
In every sense.

As you grow older
I'm sure you will hear
Many stories why her name
Is held so dear

As your old great-grandpa
I will only say this
That wherever she may be
She's throwing you a great big kiss.
O happy day
For Julie Fae

So Go Make Plans

Contemplate
The weight
Of Fate.
When things go right
The scale is light.
When joy is missin'
The scale has risen.

Contemplate
The wait
Of fate.
You can question the fact
But it's ready to act
When you least expect,
Which earns it respect.

So, weight or wait,
Welcome or not
Fate keeps its date
And you get what you got.

Humor Rumor

If you ever hear a rumor
That I've just lost
My sense of humor,
You'll know it's false,
Because,
If at whatever age
The rumor is spread,
If I'm still breathing and not yet dead,
Then God is still laughing
At the jokes I make,
That the life He has given us
Has been one huge mistake,
And to survive it at all,
One need go no further
Then to highly develop
A grand sense of humor,
And the day He stops laughing
And starts in to fuss
Is the day we'll all know
The joke's been on us.
